Sports dietetics is a healthcare profession that specialises in the interpretation and communication of nutrition and exercise science to enable active people to optimise their sporting performance in both training and competition through appropriate eating and drinking strategies.
Our university qualified Accredited Sports Dietitians specialise in sports nutrition, having completed additional studies and practical experience to gain accreditation with Sports Dietitians Australia. Our sports dietitians have experience working with both teams and individual athletes in a variety of sports including triathlon and ultra-endurance events, giving them the knowledge and skills that can help you achieve your sporting and exercise goals.
What to expect
At the initial consultation, the sports dietitian will ask questions about your current diet, medical history, exercise habits, training goals, general health and lifestyle to complete a comprehensive assessment and enable the formation of an individualised nutrition plan. Please allow up to 1 hour.
Follow up appointments provide an opportunity to review your progress and obtain ongoing nutritional support. During subsequent consultations, the dietitian may also revise your nutritional goals, provide further education, answer any questions and fine-tune your nutrition plan. Please allow up to 30 minutes.
