What We Treat
Your chiropractor at One Health specialises in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems including low back pain, headache, shoulder pain and sports injuries. Your chiropractor will focus on improving your movement and function through soft tissue work, hands on manual therapy and exercise. To achieve this, our chiropractors will employ a range of proven techniques.
Chiropractic
Encompasses a range of physical therapy techniques to asses and treat pain, numbness, tingling, postural problems, joint function and movement throughout the body. All our chiropractors are COCA registered.
Active Release Techniques (ART)
Is a form of hands on therapy that we use to treat soft tissue injuries. It is suitable for problems affecting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves, and is particularly effective for treating sports and repetitive injuries.
Rehabilitation Exercises
Our chiropractors work with you to develop an ongoing rehab program to hasten your recovery and restore strength and movement. We work closely with our exercise physiologists to provide supervised exercise rehabilitation programs.
What To Expect
Your First Appointment
The first time you are seen by your chiropractor, they will take extra time to gain an understanding of your history, thoroughly asses each area and explain your initial diagnosis in language that you can understand. The treatment will be explained to you before it starts and recommendations will be made regarding the best course of care for you. Additional time for the initial consultation is required and bookings are essential.
Subsequent Appointment
At each subsequent appointment you are reassessed, and your progress is monitored before further treatment is planned and provided. Home management will be discussed such as exercises and lifestyle modifications. The frequency of treatment in the initial phase of care is dependent on your diagnosis and will be discussed during your appointment.

Chiropractic, manual therapy and exercise are effective treatments for sports injuries, neck pain, back pain, headache and other musculoskeletal problems.
ART is a ‘hands on’ form of soft tissue treatment. ART enables effective treatment of muscle, tendon, ligament, fascia and some nerve injuries. No other form of therapy aims to correct restrictions between structures that are caused when adhesions or scar tissue develop. Any type of repetitive activity, from housework to office work to athletic training can cause this type of injury. ART excels in treating specific problems by directing therapy to the cause.
The clinic sees a high number of athletes, both amateur and professional, because of the treatment we provide. ART works to improve athletic performance and prevent injury by providing restriction free movement and improving function.
One Health has the only accredited provider of ART in southern Sydney. The treatment is particularly effective for providing immediate relief of certain musculoskeletal problems.
Less then 10% of patients will require x-rays or another form of imaging before being treated. This will be discussed with you if they are required.
Absolutely. No matter what stage of pregnancy, chiropractic care is safe and effective for both the mother and the child. Treatment can also help treat specific pregnancy related conditions such as back pain. Treatments can be modified to suit your requirements.
As with during pregnancy, treatment is safe and effective for children. With smaller children gentle, low force techniques are used.
No. Referrals are certainly welcome, but are not necessary if claiming through your health fund. A referral from your doctor is required when using Medicare (EPC) funding or for insurance claims (Workcover/CTP). Eligibility requirements will need to be discussed with your Doctor.
The EPC program entitles eligible people up to 5 subsidised sessions through Medicare. If appropriate, this can be arranged through your GP. Referred participants will receive a rebate of $50.95* for each of the 5 sessions. Full payment is required at the time of consultation and you will be provided with a receipt to claim through Medicare.
Your private health fund may contribute to the cost of treatment. The portion that they pay can be claimed immediately through HICAPS, meaning you only pay the gap at the time of treatment. Exact rebates vary depending on the health fund and the type of policy you have.
You cannot use your health fund and EPC for the same consultation. Often people will use the rebate from the health fund for the initial consultation as they get a greater amount back, then use the EPC funding for the following appointments. Please check with your health fund before your first appointment as it can vary.
Immediate health fund rebates through HICAPS are available. Please contact your fund if you wish to know the exact rebate amount, as this varies depending on your fund and your level of cover. We accept cash, EFTPOS, VISA and MasterCard. Payment is required at the time of consultation and no accounts will be issued.
